My wife and I saw you at the Orioles Opening Day Game. We enjoyed your performance.

Chip Jewell 4/14/10
What a sincere pleasure to hear you at the Opening Day of the Baltimore Orioles, a wonderful surprise. Your singing and the first eight innings were the highlight of the day. Glad that I had the opportunity to hear you are from Maryland, and especially from Frederick County.

Audrey Brown 4/11/10
Boffo anthem performance! The Toronto traveling secretary was thrilled that you inserted some French lyrics into their O Canada.Best regards from Audrey in Baltimore,

Constance Rybka 4/3/10
I grew up with classical music but, for some reason known only to my now-deceased parents, only one opera--Madame Butterfly. On a whim, I recently bought Martin Scorsese's version on DVD. Richard Troxell is absolutely perfect for this role. Never heard of Richard before this, but now I am hooked--and to find out he's a fellow Marylander and an O's fan as well! Best, Connie

Maria La Civita 4/1/10
Dear Richard,One of my best operas on film is, of course, Madame Butterfly. The acting, singing, drama and passion makes it very lifelike and stirs up many different emotions in me each time I watch it. You are very inspriational and I've highly recommended the film to all of my friends. I treasure my DVD copy very much. Thank you for an outstanding performance. Kindest regards, Maria

Patricia Troxell Althouse 9/12/09
Always a thrill to hear about you and hear your voice. Thank you so much for your example as a person and talent.

Juergen and Jensine Eichermueller 7/05/09
Greetings from two fans in Germany! My seventenn year old daughter and I have become "new" opera fans through your wonderful performance in Madame Butterfly. We wish you all the best and God's Blessings!

Raymond Watson 6/25/09
I am watching Butterfly ,the movie. Never did I hope to see/hear such a convincing Pinkerton. What a vocal and visual Pinkerton he is. I am wonderfully thankful for this production and for a handsome, virile, American-looking Pinkerton who sings the role so wonderfully well.

Casey 5/10/09
Just saw you as the Duke in Portland Opera's Rigoletto 5/10/09 matinee. I never realized before just what a creep the Duke really is. You played him with just the right amount of sleaze. My friend sitting next to me was shocked when Gilda dies for you. She leaned over to me and said"Is she really going to die for him?"He's a son of a bitch! She hated you which means you did the role right. Thanks for being part of a great afternoon at the opera.

Janet Jarrell 4/14/09
I thoroughly enjoyed Eugene Onegin on April 11,2009 at the National Arts Center in Ottawa.Your performance as Lenski was passionate, moving, and most memorable.

D Kai Ma 4/7/09
Dear Mr. Troxell: Of course, most of us knew your name and voice from the film Madame Butterfly.Luckily, I had a wonderful oportunity to see you in a live opera performance Eugene Onegin in Ottawa last night.
I'm an immigrant from Taiwan who is also a musician ( counter-tenor).Glad to learn ( about) your engagement for Carmen in Taipei.I certainly will see you again in my own country!... Thank you for all the hard work and ( the ) touching voice you deliver to us. See you again in Taipei.

Robert D'Aoust 5/26/08
Everybody should take a plane to Montréal to see his Pinkerton...Pinkerton is a horrible man, but with Troxell you pardon very easily. The love duet was magnificent singing and superb acting. A night to remember.

Derek Mannering, Author Mario Lanza: Singing To The Gods 5/16/08
Comments on TV program Mario Lanza: The Meteor
Richard Troxell was a delight, an outstanding tenor and a most charming fellow.

Col. Stephen A.T. Eyres 3/31/08
Searching for Kleinzach(Hoffmann is my favourite opera)on YouTube, I encountered an absolutely wonderful performance by Mr. Troxell, Hoffmann as I have always imagined him. Congratulations.I wish you much success and a brilliant career.

Daniel Tretter 3/31/08
I have been a fan of yours since I saw you in Madame Butterfly. Today, I saw you sing the National Anthem in Baltimore and the TV announcer said you were from Thurmont. I used to live in Westminster, MD but now I live in North Carolina. I hope to see you again soon.

Michael R. Ieronimo 1/17/08
I purchased the DVD of Cyrano de Bergerac and thought your performance was wonderful. It was a new opera to me and I enjoyed it so much.

Charles G. Johnson 1/16/08
You're the only tenor I've even seen in the role of Pinkerton that makes Butterfly's unswaying devotion completely believable. Looks, voice, and acting all combine in the perfect Lieutenant.Plus, you're my favorite Prunier from Rondine. All the best to you in the future.

Larry Henderson 1/08/08
I just saw you in your performance on DVD of Madame Butterfly for the first time and was totally mesmerized by the entire production. You were superb as was the entire cast. ...I'm glad to discover you for the first time in 2008. Thank you for your talent.

Beverly Szameit 11/20/07
I especially love the tenor voice and yours is beautiful. I first heard you in the film Madame Butterfly.Although I had seen the opera many times, your performance made Pinkerton seem real. I watched the DVD every night for two weeks. I also loved Prunier in La Rondine. Thanks for sharing your wonderful voice. I will be following your career.

Dorothy Danner 11/18/07
Great Web site!

Adrienne Gorman 10/12/07
Recently I viewed your DVD of Madame Butterfly, and I think it is the best performance of this opera I have ever seen. The singing is first rate and now I think I better understand Pinkerton's character. I wish you a healthy opera career.

Rachel and Lauren Harris 10/01/07/
Thanks for being such a positive influence in Lauren's experience with the Portland Opera and just taking the time to say "hello."Gratefully.

Max Whipps 9/28/07
I have just returned from witnessing Richard's performance as Don José in Carmen at the Portland Opera. Richard is by far the best Don José I have ever seen; and I have seen many Don Josés. Thank you for making my life richer.

Maude Martel 9/16/07
Bravo! I think that you are simply one of the greatest tenors ever!I adore the way you sing. Thank you for sharing your voice with us.

Leana Bassett 6/21/07
Watched Madme Butterfly last night...delightful, haunting, poignant. By the end of the film I loathed you which shows how good of an actor you are! A pleasure to listen /watch your performance.

Rose Marie Ricci 2/08/07
Richard, I just viewed and listened to the marvelous film clips. I was at two of those performances myself, at the Kimmel Center and AVA. I love your voice, your stage presence, and your acting. I hope to see you in Ocean City this summer.

Yves, Anne, Norma Maurice (from France) 1/30/07
Just two words to tell you again how much we appreciated your performance ( Roméo) and your kindness with us.
Richard has very nice "diction" in French and Roméo was wonderfully played. Richard played the youth of Roméo and [has] very lovely "timbre"of voice, very solaire like in the past[the voice]of the French singer Léopold Simmoneau.
Hope to see you somewhere. We can come to the USA if necessary.

Kathie ( Harbaugh) Harvey 10/21/06
Wow! The kid who sang so beautifully at Apple's Church sure "growed up good."What a voice! I turned on Prairie Home Companion and was floored when they introduced you. Seville is certainly a long way from Thurmont, Maryland.Congratulations on your success.

Lynn Mekinda 05/06/06
I heard you sing Maria from West Side Story in Naples, Florida in April, 2006. I have never heard it sung so beautifully. Many thanks.

Janet Clark 04/27/06
We just returned tonight from a wonderful evening at the Pops IV at the Naples Philharmonic with Jeff Tyzik conducting and you as one of the soloists. What a wonderful surprise you were! We were familiar with Daniel Narducci from other performances but had never heard you. What a voice range you have.Your performance of Maria was beautiful and very moving. Your performance all evening was excellent, fresh, appropriate to the song , and when necessary funny. I am an almost octogenarian living in a retirement community in Naples, and this was one of the the best evenings we have spent at the Phil.Thank you! Thank you!

Yves Maurice 03/19/06
Back from Montpellier.( Cyrano March 19.) My daughter loves opera thanks to you. So we do thank you. We really enjoyed your performance this Sunday.
Yves, Anne and Norma

Jane Rolandi Gray 01/24/06
Great tenor....thrilling!

Michael Weaver 01/04/06
It was truly a superb delight to hear your Viennese arias and duets at the American Music Theater in Lancaster, PA.You have the ideal voice for this exquisite music, something my companion avowed vigorously, for she had lived and sung in Vienna for many years. Your professionalism was obvious before you even opened your mouth to sing, so already into the music were you as the Lancaster Symphony played the introduction. We LOVED you! What a voice and what a handsome man to boot. Please come back to sing here.

Jeff Hendrick 12/06/05
My parents are active in St. Peter's Church and they told me about your voice. I did not think much about this comment but I went to [your] website and listened to the samples. WOWWWWWW! Speechless. You're beyond awesome. My parents and I are forming plans to hear you in Naples,FL in April. Hope to see/hear you then!

Linda Donovan 12/06/05
Thank you so much for your concert at Apples Church the Sunday after Thanksgiving. You are a rich man to have such a wealth of friends and family. It was a true love-fest and I feel privleged to have happened upon it. The concert was truly the highlight of the Thanksgiving weekend for my husband and me. I look forward to hearing you in other venues.

I recently moved to LA from NYC. I have learned that you will sing B.F.Pinkerton in the LA Opera production of Madama Butterfly. I can't wait! I loved the Mitterand film starring Ying Huang. You are a gifted tenor with both dramatic and lyric components to your performances. Keep up the good work. May you always shine in the opera firmament.

Just watched "Madame Butterfly." Absolutely gorgeous. Thank-you.

Matt Pressley 10/25/05
I had the great opportunity to see you in concert awhile back in Florence, SC. I believe you were the tenor soloist in a Mozart Requiem. I am a tenor currently pursuing a vocal performance degree at Charleston Southern. I hope to be taking part in Così Fan Tutte in the Spring. I was just wondering if you had any advice for a young tenor.

Pascal Remi Nguyen 10/16/05
It's too bad you never come to sing in Reims ( France.) For me, you are a great tenor.

Barry Draper 7/11/05

Dear Mr. Troxell, I just watched your Madama Butterrfly movie on DVD and totally fell in love with your singing and your performance as Pinkerton. As an opera lover,I have always loved this opera, however, this was the first time for me to watch it in its entirety, and I was captured by every moment. Your voice is beautiful and expressive. Your performance was compelling, and your singing was just brilliant. I want to let you know this is one of the most enjoyable opera films I have ever seen.
From your past performances I noticed that you had performed with Opera Carolina which is the company of my city. I hope to see you singing Pinkerton and other roles here again in the near future. And, I am definitely looking forward to your recordings too.
